About GFL Defense

GFL Defense is led by Laurie Lanphear, a PMP-certified program manager with hands-on experience supporting execution-heavy defense programs where logistics coordination, documentation control, and follow-through are critical to delivery.

Laurie’s background spans work inside large defense contractor environments, including L3Harris Technologies, as well as direct execution support across domestic and international defense programs. Her work has consistently focused on navigating complex, often unclear processes—coordinating across systems, stakeholders, and teams to keep programs moving when execution becomes difficult.

This experience includes managing large, multi-year IDIQ efforts, supporting high-tempo operational programs, and working in documentation- and compliance-heavy environments. Laurie has supported programs involving international logistics, export/import coordination, and customs clearance in foreign countries, where timelines, requirements, and local constraints require disciplined execution and constant follow-up.

She has also led and coordinated field service teams operating across the Caribbean and Latin America, providing on-the-ground support to program teams while maintaining alignment with prime contractor requirements. This work required close coordination with OEMs, logistics partners, and program leadership to ensure delivery, sustainment, and issue resolution in dynamic operating environments.

GFL Defense was established to provide program management and logistics augmentation to prime contractors and OEMs when internal teams are stretched, understaffed, or facing surge demands. Rather than advisory consulting, the firm is built around execution—stepping into active programs, stabilizing workflows, managing details, and closing gaps so delivery stays on track.

At its core, GFL Defense exists for the kind of work others tend to avoid: navigating confusing systems, coordinating across boundaries, and bringing order to programs where execution is challenging.
